PhD Marine Ecology, Marine Coastal Scientist

Dr Oliver Wade is the Principal Coastal Scientist at Marlborough District Council. He has a background in fisheries ecology and a long-standing association with the fishing industry, having spent the last twenty years working on sustainability issues in Europe and New Zealand. He has worked for the Marlborough District Council for the past 4 years and previously worked with the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council for eight years. Oliver is on the Stakeholder Panel for the Coastal Special Interest Group (CSIG) for Sustainable Seas Challenge, and a representative for the Sounds Advisory Group. Oliver splits his time between Hapuku/Kaikōura and Picton/Waitohi.
